Her acclaimed debut album You Know What It's Like (2016) and her follow-up EP The Garden (2017) - both released on Blackest Ever Black - have put Australian Carla Dal Forno on the lists of anyone interested in sounds in the realms of post-punk, industrial, narcotic dub and dream pop as an exciting new name. She was formerly part of Melbourne-based band Mole House. Today, Dal Forno is also a member of the trio F Ingers, with Samuel Karmel and Tarquin Manek, which also releases on Backest Ever Black. As a solo artist, Dal Forno produces atmospheric, ambiguous songs that reveal her flair for detail and subtle moods. Her productions are infused with a mid-European aesthetic, marked by synth textures in various shades of grey, pulsating drum machines, stripped-down guitar riffs and unsettling bass runs. Her icy voice rises delicately above it all. Live, mysteriously dark duo performs alongside multi-instrumentalist Mark Smith.
