Against racism, social division and gender inequality musicians have to go on stage again nowadays. Leading representatives of Americana music in Germany and the Rhine-Main area like Markus Rill, Wolf Schubert-k., Tom Ripphahn (ex-Hands On The Wheel), Robert Oberbeck, Maik Garthe, Klein & glücklich and Reverend Schulzz will be playing their own tunes and songs by Bob Dylan, Marvin Gaye, Joan Baez, Bruce Springsteen, Sam Cooke, Ani diFranco and others at Bed on January 27.
Thomas Waldherr, Dylan expert and initiator of the Americana series at Darmstadt's Theater im Pädagog will lead the evening. Last year, Waldherr and Schubert-K. organized a successful concert titled Lovesongs for the other America, which took place on the eve of the Trump inauguration and was also attended by Markus Rill. Trump's presidency and the AfD's entry into the Bundestag show that lovesongs for freedom and equality cannot be sung often enough.
