What does a person need to be happy? What is happiness? What does it feel like? Do we know what makes us happy? And if so, are we setting up our lives to realize our ideas of happiness? What prevents us from doing so? Our fellow human beings, society, ourselves? - These questions are explored by 5 actors and a director.
They reflect on their own lives. They interview people from Frankfurt: a poet, a childminder, a doctor, a blacksmith, etc. They watch films, browse through novels, poems, philosophical treatises and let themselves be swayed by advertisements promising happiness. From the collected materials they develop a play: multifaceted, rich in associations, contradictory, like the intangible reality of happiness.
