Roderich von Wahnstein is a scientist as brilliant as he is obsessed. And he longs for a wife! He took in three sisters, yet none yielded to his wooing. The disappointment of this led to a morbid plan maturing in him: from the most beautiful parts of the girls he wants to form his perfect wife. The plan works: On the night of a full moon, Roderich commits the gruesome deed. The work succeeds, and Roderich christens his creation Lystreia. When she finally awakens, she has no memories. Roderich immediately begins to impress upon her his idea of an ideal woman. But the creation develops a will of its own. Lystreia is not ready to be degraded to an object of lust. Too late, Roderich must realize that he cannot possess a human being, albeit an artificial one. The macabre chamber play is at first reminiscent of "Frankenstein", but turns out to be a dark parable about sexual greed, the quest for power and the eternal search for real love - provided with a musty touch of classic horror flicks.
