Maceo Parker, born in North Carolina in 1943, is one of the most influential jazz/funk musicians in the world. He has been making his mark on the scene since the '60s, playing with everyone from James Brown to Ray Charles, George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, Prince, Red Hot Chili Peppers and many more. In the 1970s, the living legend was part of what was probably the best horn section ever: James Brown's JB Horns. Maceo Parker is considered the epitome of funk. His saxophone playing is unmistakable, his band the crunchiest little funk orchestra in the world. You can't tell which came first, funk or Maceo Parker.
Today he stands for up to three-hour shows that captivate every visitor. Without bombastic show elements but instead with full concentration on the music, the dancing and the fun. His promise: "98 percent Funk, 2 percent Jazz". And - as he himself often points out: he loves every single member of his audience.
