The Main Matsuri Japan Festival returns to the Walter-von-Cronberg-Platz in Frankfurt-Sachsenhausen this summer. As in previous years, over 200 artists will travel from Germany, Europe and of course Japan. Look forward to a diverse stage program, action stages, workshops, cosplay contests, culinary specialties, stalls to browse and much more.
From 12.08. to 14.08.2022, the square on the Main will become a great Japanese summer festival with a rousing program on various stages - from dance performances to live music, a kimono fashion show, magic, live painting and the great cosplay contest. The characters of the cosplay contests will take visitors into the worlds of manga, anime and cult series and enrich the festival grounds and the entire city with their imaginative costumes. In numerous workshops, visitors can get active themselves and immerse themselves in the culture of Japan. A large games area also encourages visitors to get involved. For the youngest guests, a special children's program is planned.
The aim of the festival is to make Japanese culture accessible to all. Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to offer the festival free of charge as before without compromising quality. Therefore, the organizers have decided to take a small entrance fee in the single digits from this year. For children under 12, admission remains free.
As a special extra, there are screenings of two anime films in the nearby Harmonie cinema - the perfect complement to a visit to the festival!

Another highlight is the NINTENDO SUMMERTOUR 2022, which also stops at the festival Whether young or old, whether skilled video gamers or the curious who have never had a controller in their hands: they are all invited to immerse themselves in Nintendo Switch games. Included is the motion game Nintendo Switch Sports, turbulent sports games like Mario Strikers: Battle League Football, the classic racing gameMario Kart 8 Deluxe and many more. On top of that, fun hands-on activities, giveaways and a raffle will entice you.
