Every two years in spring, the popular cultural spectacle invites you to a nighttime excursion to the participating museums, galleries and cultural initiatives.
When museums, galleries and cultural institutions open their doors at an unusual time and the yellow owl flies again - it's Museum Night in Mainz! On Saturday, June 3, the popular cultural event finally returns to the state capital after six years.
More than 36 museums, galleries and independent cultural institutions open their doors from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. and invite visitors to the nocturnal discovery flight. Until deep into the night, the collections and objects, but also the latest exhibitions are presented in a whole new light.

More than 36 museums, galleries and independent cultural institutions open their doors from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. and invite visitors to the nocturnal discovery flight. Until deep into the night, the collections and objects, but also the latest exhibitions are presented in a whole new light.

The special thing about it for everyone involved is the strolling at unconventional times: Here one comes easily into the conversation, exchanges itself over seen and not yet discovered of the museum night. Also in the shuttle between the individual meetings one becomes fast humans acquainted.
With from the party are naturally the large museums such as the Gutenberg museum, the nature historical museum, the cathedral museum and the national museum as well as some galleries and young culture initiatives. With excitement, one will discover how the cultural landscape has changed positively with many new participants!
An unusual accompanying program awaits the visitors and visitors: Everywhere you will find entertainment at a high level: music, literature, dance or theater. And to go with it, there are unusual culinary offerings until the wee hours of the morning.
At the end of the museum night, all night owls:inside finally meet for the big closing party at the Landesmuseum to round off a special night with hopefully unforgettable and inspiring impressions!

Admission
The admission will cost 10 euros, reduced 5 euros. For children and young people up to 16 years the entrance is free. The presale in all participating houses and in the Mainz Store at the market begins from the middle of May.
The entrance ribbon to the Mainzer museum night is at the same time ticket for the two particularly furnished "museum lines", which connect the mechanisms from 17 to 1 o'clock in the 30-Minuten-Takt with one another. And what's more: with the wristbands, everyone can travel free of charge to and from the Mainz-Wiesbaden public transport system (tariff zone 65).
