Rheinhessen is one of the most traditional wine-growing regions, where wine has been grown since 20 BC. With 26,440 hectares of vineyards, Rheinhessen is Germany's largest wine-growing region and can boast top-quality wines.
In 2017, the Mainzer Weintage (Mainz Wine Days) will feature around 60 wineries on a 620-metre walkway and exhibition area between the Theodor Heuss Bridge and the Kaisertor, broken up by rows of seats with tables as well as culinary stalls offering Rheinhessen specialities. Hmmm, delicious!
The area offers an atmospheric romantic atmosphere with a beautiful view of the Rhine. Several live stages provide atmospheric music.
The wine days are open on Friday from 16.00 - 01.00, Saturday from 14.00 - 01.00, Sunday from 12.00 - 24.00 and Monday from 12.00 - 24.00. The live program goes every evening until 23.00.
