Malakoff Kowalski was born in Boston as the son of Persian parents, grew up in Hamburg, now lives in Berlin and, not only there, is an indispensable part of the theatre, art and music scene as a composer and performer. He became known mainly as part of the pop duo Jansen & Kowalski, he was involved as a musician in studio albums of the electro band Moonbootica, as a composer and musician in the albums of 2raumwohnung and writes and produces film music for Klaus Lemke since 2008. His first solo album was followed by two more and recently "My First Piano" was released, on which he pays his respects to the instrument with ten distinctive piano pieces - with almost casual finger exercises between aphorism and laconism, which identify him as a "bold, well-tempered piano player on the border between classical and jazz", according to critic Max Dax.
