The smallest rock festival in the world? Proven concept - new program: with only mandolin, ukulele bass and guitar, Mandowar bring songs of the world's biggest rock bands to the stage. Their concerts are now often referred to as the smallest rock festivals in the world. No wonder: The setlist reads like a lineup that festivals like Rock am Ring, Wacken and co. can only dream of: AC/DC, Metallica, Rammstein, Guns'n'Roses, Iron Maiden, Manowar, Kiss, Queen, Rage against the machine, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Johnny Cash, Motörhead, Steppenwolf, Alice Cooper, Judas Priest and Nirvana are interpreted. But with every song the own Mandowar notes are clearly to be heard. The trio stands for an amazing style crossover: Metal becomes polka, rock becomes country. Queen and Rage against the Machine merge into a wild mashup. Fact is: At Mandowar concerts there is always a festival atmosphere.
Since the band was founded in 2010, Mandowar has played over 300 shows. The three musicians from Wetzlar played in front of thousands of spectators like at the Wacken Open Air but also in small pubs in front of 50 people. Thanks to the internet Mandowar also finds more and more international fans: Via Itunes the band sells songs all over the world. Their version of "Warriors of the Wolrd" has been listened to almost 2 million times on Spotify. Their video for "Poison" stayed on the international I-Music-One chart for weeks.
