First performed: 1884 in Paris In French, with supertitles. Into the convent, Lescaut was to accompany his cousin Manon. But fate intervenes: The young Chevalier des Grieux falls in love with the beautiful girl. The two flee to Paris, but the idyll does not last. Manon quickly learns to use her effect on men.
Luxury, wealth and adventure beckon. Money and love, church and casino compete, and it ends fatally for Manon.
