Denis Cointe and the Compagnie Translation have adapted for the stage the story Délivrance ('Redemption') by the Berlin-based author Marie NDiaye. The hero of the story lives abroad and has to express himself in a language that is foreign to him. His letters to his beloved wife remain unanswered, and he vacillates between anger, despair and acceptance. The German translation (Claudia Kalscheuer) was read by the French actor Jean Chaize, who has lived in Germany for a long time. The French language still resonates in his pronunciation. A literary theatre evening with images, music and language.
