Mark Forster returns to the big halls in autumn 2017 to celebrate his gold award-winning album "TAPE" (Four Music), in a fitting setting with his fans.
Following the downright bombastic success of "Au Revoir" (900.000 singles sold, German Music Authors Award), followed by the album success of "TAPE", Mark Forster is without a doubt hard to imagine the German music & TV scene without him.
With hits like "Wir sind groß", the official football European Championship song 2016 of the ZDF, which incidentally brought Mark Forster platinum status, and the current single "Chöre", which was awarded gold, his name is known to every music-loving radio listener.
As a juror and coach on the successful casting show "The Voice Kids" (Sat.1) he also convinces not only with his musical talent, but also wins the hearts of viewers with his natural and likeable manner. Mark Forster will also be part of this year's season of "Sing meine Song - Das Tauschkonzert" (VOX).
His current album "TAPE", which is also the namesake of his tour this year, sends out with an outrageous ease to underpin his status. Boldly, he teamed up for "TAPE" with the likes of the Harlem Gospel Singers, string arranger Rosie Danvers (Adele, among others) and arranger Jason Yarde, who arranged the horn section on the Plan B hit "She Said," among others. That led him and his producers Ralf Christian Mayer and Daniel Nitt
from initial recordings in Motril, Spain, to London and New York, and finally to Tenerife, where Forster completed the production.
Probably also because of these impressions "TAPE" shows us, despite the usual melancholic tones, also a happy Mark Forster, a relaxed one. That was important to him, he says, he wanted to make an album that corresponds to his state of mind and actually also quite fundamentally to his nature.
"TAPE" has become, just like in former times when Forster still sat in front of the radio and recorded himself cassettes, an album full of favourite songs.
"TAPE" is playful and megalomaniacal, small-scale and clever without being cerebral, and for those who haven't had a tape deck in a while (or don't even know what that is anymore), a reminder of what it's like to sit in front of the radio and discover songs for life, as if by accident. Because "TAPE" is more than full of it.
With the "TAPE TOUR 2017" Mark Forster now sets himself no lower goal than to bring the success of the album as a live show once again to the big stages of Germany and Austria. Last year he already played over 60 shows and thrilled the audience not least because of an impressively detailed live production. Loud and quiet, colorful and full of energetic surprises it will be again in 2017.
