Passion and talent cannot be learned, but "Germany's soul voice", Max Mutzke, has both in abundance. Since his hit singles "Can't wait until tonight" and "Marie" as well as 8th place at the Eurovision Song Contest, the exceptional talent has established himself as one of the best singers in the German music landscape. He enjoys the respect of the feuilleton, the broad public and the local music scene - and that as a musician as well as a person. Together with the string quintet MIKIs Takeover! Ensemble, Max Mutzke now lets old and new shine in unheard-of brilliance and interprets songs in a way never heard before: Mutzke's hit "Schwarz auf Weiß" in avant-garde tango garb, James Brown's "A Man's World" in waltz time and Radiohead's "Creep" with Bach's cello solo. Soul music in the most literal sense: music for the soul.
