Stand-up comedian Maxi Gstettenbauer goes on tour with a new program starting in the fall of 2022 Maxi Gstettenbauer's new program offers exactly what everyone is looking for: a good time. Because that's exactly what seems further away than ever before. Everywhere lurk the three C's of bad mood: wars, diseases and climate change. In the face of this trio of unease, one wonders: does it really go on beyond the horizon?
Maxi Gstettenbauer was born in Schwarzach, Lower Bavaria, and managed school rather in standby mode. If someone had told him that he suffers from depression, he might have graduated from high school and would now be developing vaccines, but then we would have lost one of the most renowned stand-up comedians in Germany.
He's not a lyricist - he's a live performer, which has the advantage that you don't have to remember so many lyrics. That doesn't make so much sense with Maxi either, because if you know him, you know his programs breathe. A program could already look completely different after four months. His reason: It just happens too much!
"Good time" is this special comedy cocktail, which is rarely mixed in Germany. Absurd silliness, paired with clever everyday observations, spiced with one or the other social criticism and refined with reliable down-humor. Maxi's humor looks now and then in the head past, but resides yet rather in the belly.
He is a welcome guest in all comedy and cabaret shows and regularly welcomes the entire comedy scene in his own show "Comedy Central presents: StandUp 3000". His podcast "GUT ABGEHANGEN" with Alain Frei is one of the most successful comedy podcasts in Germany.
