Brainstorming about The Divine Comedy? Eccentric, elegant, a bit pretentious, extravagant, pathetic, curious and definitely unique. In 1989, at the height of British pop, Neil Hannon, singer, guitarist and songwriter, decided to get serious about music. He formed a band, only to change the entire line-up a short time later. A solo debut album followed and many more line-up changes. 1996 then the second album "Casanova", with "Something for the Weekend" the first chart success - the ice was broken, the career curve went from here on steeply upwards.

On the eleventh record "Foreverland" (2016) unmistakable, this band around mastermind Hannon: poetic pop refinements that couldn't be more dramatic, epic arrangements with timpani, strings and trumpets, always with great emotions and wonderfully old-fashioned songwriting. A beautiful spectacle - quirky, twisted and downright entertaining.
