Michael Krebs & the Devil's Forks play cracking piano songs with lyrics to the twelfth power. The exiled Swabian with an aversion to the whispering fox celebrates a calculated loss of control with his band at live shows. "Every time I take it upon myself to just make music and leave out the announcements," says Michael Krebs, "but it never works. I just like to chat too much." And basically it doesn't matter if he's blabbing or singing, either is a hell of a lot of fun.
Along with the Devil's Forks of Fries, the songwriter sweeps through his songs with such verve and party spirit that it's impossible to resist. "Speed-devastation for the to-go society" is what Krebs has to say about it. This applies to the songs of the brand new album "An mir liegt's nicht" as well as to the classics "Das Mädchen von der Jungen Union", "Leude" or "Grundschullehrerin".
In his songs Krebs gets to the point with rock'n'roll and political incorrectness. Even exhausting topics like self-measurement, xenophobia and organic flying mangoes. That's very funny. The trio from Berlin sounds so diverse and unpredictable as if Jamie Cullum, Die Ärzte and Marc-Uwe Kling had strayed into the studio at the same time.
"Die Pommesgabeln des Teufels" are two cuddly thrash metal musicians that pianist and singer Michael Krebs picked up at the metal festival in Wacken. On drums Uncle aka the "Oheim of Death (Alligatoah, Ohrbooten), and on bass "Boris the Beast".
