Michael Wigge is a reporter, self-filmmaker and author.

In the summer of 2010, Wigge makes the incredible self-experiment within 150 days to travel from Berlin to the end of the world, that is, to Antarctica, without money in his pocket. This exciting and sometimes dramatic self-experiment leads Wigge to freegans, homeless people, pimps, dropouts, Amish farmers and many other subcultures. On the journey, every day is filled with arranging food, onward travel, and lodging for free. He sleeps in barns and on beaches, hitchhikes or stowaways on trains. He procures his food in shops, cafes or fetches it from garbage cans.
In addition to highlights like his Hawaiian trip or his job as a butler to the German ambassador in Panama, there are also disasters: In Peru, his host's house burns down.
But he makes it!
The trip ends in Antarctica, which Wigge reaches as a member of a Chilean expedition.
In total, Wigge travels 35,000 kilometers across four continents, eleven countries, sleeps with 40 different people, asks for free food in 500 stores, and meets over 100 helpful and compassionate people who are infected by his idea and help him.
Presented are in-depth interviews with people along the way, great landscape and portrait images, cinematic interludes, and facts about the country and its people. Above all, the reportage offers a glimpse into a life situation that is almost unimaginable for us. Exciting!
The video series has been broadcast several times on German television on ZDFneo and on PBS in the USA, nominated for the Grimme Prize and sold 50,000 copies as a book in Germany, South Korea and the USA.
