Love assails men just as misfortune does, escape is impossible: Hermia loves Lysander. Demetrius loves Hermia. Helena loves Demetrius. Her father demands that Hermia marry Demetrius, so she flees with Lysander. Demetrius follows the lovers, Helena follows Demetrius. In one intoxicating night, they lose each other and find each other. The familiar is thrown out of joint. The unexpected seems possible. At daybreak, nothing is as it was. But the dream images remain hooked in the consciousness. The memories inspire.
Tim Plegge's "Sommernachtstraum" - after "Aschenputtel" and "Kaspar Hauser" his third full-length ballet for the Hessisches Staatsballett - celebrated an acclaimed premiere and sold-out performances in 2017. Now the production returns for a few evenings.
