Post-Punk / New Wave Concert at KESSELHAUS
Modern English belong to the first generation of English post-punk/new wave.Bands that far too few people remember today. They formed in 1977 under the name The Lepers, but soon renamed themselves and released "After The Snow" in 1982, an album still cult revered today on 4AD - where else? "I Melt With You", "Hands Across The Sea" or "Ink And Paper" are tracks that are still listened to up and down today. Modern English disbanded several times over the years, but since 2009 they are active again - almost in their original line-up. And, best of all, earlier this year they released "Take Me To The Trees", another studio album after 30 years - it's very good! Opening the evening will be Modern Days from Mainz.
