In Moritz Neumeier's new solo program "StandUp" only one thing remains: Moritz Neumeier.
Still reporting from his life, still relentlessly hitting everyone who crosses his paths. No one seems safe - not any marginalized groups, nor his own child.
Most of all, he himself is always the victim of his relentless analysis.
The tone is as harsh as the humor, the jokes as black as his lungs.
The evening shimmies along on his cigarettes. The more the ashtray fills, the more radical the statements. The thicker the air, the more cutting the comments.
Once again, Moritz leaves the German cover of comedy in the cloakroom and takes his cue from what is commonplace in the English-speaking world. Performing without a set role. Without mask or costume. Without the eternal game of hide-and-seek behind funny hats and the common cabaret ductus. One artist, one microphone, one audience.
NFollowing Team and Snowy and the award-winning first solo program, "No Fucking Rainbow." it continues with what made it - the truthfulness. Coupled with the seriously taken saying "Satire is allowed to do anything." the result is a program that doesn't need a red thread. Because life doesn't have one either. Because both consist of snapshots that string together to form a whole at the end.
What more does it need?
