In recent years, more than one million visitors have experienced the star ensemble from Moscow live on its tours in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The continuously growing number of spectators is just one proof of the impressive track record and proves the excellent level of this Moscow-based ballet company: they present an essential aspect of Russian culture - classical ballet - in its purest form, paired with wonderful costumes and fairytale stage sets, made in the workshops of the legendary Bolshoi Theatre. The company is under the artistic direction of Vyacheslav Gordeyev, at the time star and director of the Bolshoi Ballet. The company is trained, among others, by ballet master Yuri Burlaka, who directed the Bolshoi Ballet from 2009 to 2011. The 2016/2017 ensemble includes as first dancers and soloists among others: Maxim Fomin, Anton Kosinov, Dmitry Kotermin, Nikita Mikhaylov, Anna Shcherbakova, and Iuliia Zviagina.
Since its founding in 1979, the Moscow State Russian Ballet has been synonymous with classical Russian ballet of the highest caliber and has served as an important ambassador for this important artistic discipline through its extensive touring. For 25 years now, the artists of the State Russian Ballet Moscow have been presenting "Swan Lake" as top dance in perfection, with its feather-light lifts and virtuoso pirouettes. Time and again, they leave home with their production to thrill audiences worldwide with the masterpieces of Russian ballet classics.
