Rapper and music producer Moses Pelham had prefixed his recently released album "Herz" with a motto by Goethe: "It must come from the heart, what should have an effect on the heart."
So it fits: as reported in the online edition of the "Journal Frankfurt", the German rap pioneer, who was born in Frankfurt in February 1971, is to be honored with the Goethe plaque, one of the biggest awards the city of Frankfurt has to give out. This would put Pelham in line with writer Thomas Mann and philosopher Theodor W. Adorno, among others. A jury of magistrate members of several parliamentary groups recently dealt with a corresponding proposal from the citizens - and agreed. Lord Mayor Peter Feldmann (SPD) confirmed on request that he had signed the corresponding submission. "The magistrate must still agree to it," said Feldmann.
