"Psychedelic, progressive, dark and absolutely danceable and funky" - Eclipsed

<"There's a huge rumble in the underground", writes Reeperbahn Festival about Mother's Cake. And they are right. Since their formation in 2008, the two studio albums Creation's Finest (2012/feat. Ikey Owens, ex-keyboardist of The Mars Volta, Jack White) and Love The Filth (2015) have already raised a lot of dust. Eclipsed magazine described the trio's sound as "psychedelic, progressive, dark and absolutely danceable and funky", Classic Rock unceremoniously created the genre "(retro)-crossover" and SLAM wrote of "superior musical excellence".

2014 saw the release of their live album Off The Beaten Track, which perfectly captures the raw, pure energy of their shows, which has also caught the attention of quite a few rock greats. Bands like the Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group, Deftones, Iggy Pop and the Stooges, Limp Bizkit, Wolfmother, Anathema, Pentagram, DeWolff, and many more have Mother's Cake open their shows across Europe and Australia precisely because of this energy.

With No Rhyme, No Reason they now report back and deliver another grade A psychedelic/progressive rock caliber. Funky rhythms, asymmetrical melodies and furious vocals are still the main ingredients of the cake, although this time it's more song-oriented and clearly more colourful. Hard-hitting planks like "The Killer", "H.8" or "The Sun" still distinguish Mother's Cake, as well as psychedelic sounds in "Hide & Seek" and "Big Girls" plus funky outros alá "Streetja Man".

"The Killer", the first single from Mother's Cake's new album, will be released on 11. November, and it ties in with the gritty sound of "Love The Filth" - and the video hits right at the heart, too.
