The Schaumainkai on Frankfurt's Main embankment, also called Museumsufer, is one of the cultural highlights of the Main metropolis and a must-see for every tourist. Here art and culture lovers will find the right museum for every taste. Whether you are interested in architecture, photography, modern art, film, old sculptures or interesting exhibits of different world cultures, you will definitely find something you like at the Museumsufer. Whether it's Frankfurt's Film Museum, the Museum of Communication, the World Culture Museum, the Liebieghaus or the world-famous Städel, Frankfurt's Museum Mile on the picturesque banks of the Main is certainly unique in Germany in its multifaceted nature. This is, of course, a reason to celebrate, which is why the Museumsuferfest (Museum Embankment Festival) was launched several years ago and has since become a fixed and indispensable part of Frankfurt's cultural life. Once a year, the Schaumainkai and the adjacent cultural institutions are the venue for a cultural festival that offers an incredible variety and wealth of events, performances and a unique culinary offering. The Museumsuferfest has thus proved to be an absolute crowd puller in recent years. Last year alone, over three million visitors were counted over the three days of the festival. Such a rush of visitors is also to be expected at this year's Museumsuferfest, as the organisers are once again offering an incredibly interesting and beautiful range of events. This year's highlights will certainly include not only the numerous special events organised by the museums and various music stages or guided tours of the museums' exhibitions, but also the Latino Treff near the Eiserner Steg, the large Feinstaub and Tiefengrund stage, the Journal Frankfurt stage, the dragon boat race on the Main or the Frankfurt Music Stage among the many highlights of the festival. A very special highlight is the Batschkapp stage. Unlike in previous years, the Museumsuferfest is not dedicated to a special country focus - usually the guest country of the coming Book Fair. This year, something completely different is being celebrated: Frankfurt's children! A separate large festival area will be dedicated to them. Another highlight is the 9th Festival of Comedy, which will take place on the stage in front of the caricatura museum. Here again some great artists have announced themselves. In addition to the grandiose closing fireworks on Sunday at around 10 p.m., the individual museums will of course also be involved in the Museumsuferfest with special exhibitions, various musical and artistic performances, films and special guided tours! In addition, there will be workshops, hands-on activities for children, readings, a book market at the Historical Museum, the popular Choir and Organ Mile, parties, the 12th Antiquarian Bookstore Mile at the GIERSCH Museum and much more, which makes a visit to the Museum Festival absolutely worthwhile. If you want to find out exactly what's on in advance, be sure to visit the festival's official website. Friday 15.00 - 01.00
