Boundary-crossing musical experience between classical, pop and electro
The secret is out! Special guests at the Music Discovery Project 2018 are the Hamburg-based electro band Hundreds and the young Italian multi-percussionist Simone Rubino. Under the title "BeziehungsKiste" (Relationship Box), they will present a programme with the hr-Sinfonieorchester in the Jahrhunderthalle all about what is probably the oldest theme in art: love. The concerts on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 February 2018 will be presented by YOU FM - the radio for young adults.
Music by Sergei Prokofiev, Leonard Bernstein, Iannis Xenakis and Tan Dun will be juxtaposed with the spherical electro sounds of the Hundreds on both evenings. Central motifs are interpersonal relationships and also the connections between man and nature, orchestra and band, solo and tutti, rhythm and voice. In the Music Discovery Project, these bonds shine through and enter into unfamiliar relationships in the musical worlds of classical, contemporary avant-garde, tango and electronics.
