They open our eyes and make us prick up our ears, they motivate, comfort and entertain - yet we often have no clue about their historical background. Or do you know why we have stage fright and buy a pig in a poke?
Building block marvelling is the order of the day and light dawning is guaranteed in this colourful participatory and thought-provoking exhibition. In a wonderful fairground atmosphere you will find a puzzle with international idioms, a proverb generator, a selfie pillory station and even a little peep show.
Enjoyable, vivid and stimulating at the same time, curator Rolf-Bernhard Essig's show presents idioms as one of the most important, original and powerful areas of our vocabulary.
