Who could resist the fascination of a 500-year-old globe, the first of its time to show the then newly discovered continent of AMERICA? Who doesn't get a little spooked at the sight of a late medieval ambidextrous sword almost as long as oneself?When noble princes and wealthy burghers began furnishing magnificent private cabinets of curiosities some 600 years ago, this had one goal above all: to amaze owners and visitors with extraordinary pieces. Today, museum visitors can still be wowed by the wondrous objects on this guided tour.
