Negative Approach, formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1981, are considered one of the most influential midwest hardcore bands ever. Like most bands of their generation, they were little known outside their hometown at the time. Today, they are revered in a cult-like fashion. Negative Approach broke up after only three years, and their singer John Brannon went on to form the Laughing Hyenas and later Easy Action. In 2006, the band reunited to play a show to celebrate Touch&Go's 25th label anniversary. Since then, they have toured sporadically.
