The new permanent exhibition of the Museum für Kommunikation focuses on four phenomena that essentially determine the way people deal with the media: Acceleration, Participation, Networking and Control. Parallel to the permanent exhibition, the museum will be showing artistic positions in which these aspects are reflected in the art spaces over the coming years. NETWORKS is the second art exhibition in this series. "The best thing about Offenbach is the view to Frankfurt" is one of the comments Offenbachers often hear. In return, residents of the city to the east of Frankfurt position themselves as "poor but creative". In the exhibition NETWORKS, the artist Lukas Sünder, together with Sitha Reis, installs a space as a real and virtual stomping ground and meeting place for Offenbachers and Frankfurters - and also for all other visitors. In addition, Barbara Remus presents filigree nets that she creates from the edges of sheets of stamps. The Berlin artist Sabine Ostermann shows human figures immersed in smartphones on large-format linocuts; digital communication and networking is reflected here as a network of relationships in the form of artful ornaments.
