28-year-old MC and hip-hop songwriter Nathan John Feuerstein, better known by his moniker NF, is the new tough voice of US rap. His path to the upper echelon of US rap has been long and winding, but since the release of his third album, Perception, in October 2017, the Michigan-born MC is emerging as a new spearhead of edgy, fast and hard rap. From this album, which rose to the top of the US Billboard charts and also climbed high in the charts in many other countries such as Canada, Norway, Sweden or England, also came the single "Let You Down", which developed into his first international success: Top 40 placements in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, England and many other nations, top ten listings in Norway, Sweden as well as in Germany, among others. Now follows the next stroke of genius with the album "The Search", released on July 26. In the USA, NF was able to place four singles at the same time in the US top 100, together these four singles come to more than 120 million streams so far. As part of his world tour, NF will come to Germany between 01 and 06 March 2020 for five shows in Cologne, Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Munich.
Nathan Feuerstein hails from Gladwin/Michigan, an area that has particularly suffered from the decline of the US auto industry. Lots of unemployment and alcoholism, he was also born into a desolate family. His parents divorced at an early age, and soon after his mother died of an overdose. Nathan then concentrated all the more on sports - he was considered a top performer on his high school's basketball team - as well as on making music. As a teenager, he wrote his first tracks and recorded them on a computer in his childhood bedroom. In 2010, he released his first album "Moments" on his own and under his real name, which found him his first followers in the US hip hop subculture.
It took four more years, however, before Nathan was able to actually sign a solid record deal. 2015 saw the release of his official debut album, "Mansion", which immediately made it into the top ten of the US rap charts. Just over a year later, he succeeded with the second album "Therapy Session", which climbed to number 12 on the US Billboard charts and dropped first single hits with songs like "Intro 2", "I Just Wanna Know" and "Real". On top of that, he was helped by the US media creating an artificial rivalry between him and Machine Gun Kelly, the two new MCs on the US map of hip-hop.
