Hafen 2 Nacht is slimming down all summer to a monthly, hand-picked, exquisite date - class not mass is the motto here - this can only be good today! Jus-Ed DJ Jus-Ed reveals an adventurous, energetic and spiritual style of playing quality music from house to techno. He has been spinning records since 1981 and his exposure to a wide range of experiences has shaped his unique musical viewpoint.
Jus-Ed's underground smooth sets have captured and educated audiences all the way from his former home in Bridgeport Connecticut to Europe, Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He is in the mainstream of all underground music and he has been quoted as one of the most prolific music producers in the scene for the past 15 years. In 2001 Jus-Ed teamed up with DJ Vic Money (98.7 Kiss FM), to create the Underground Quality signature under which they began producing parties and helped re-grow the underground house community on the East Coast of America.
In 2004 this project turned into the now worldwide respected label of the same name - Underground Quality. Over a course of almost 15 years the world has now seen more than 65 UQ releases - all on vinyl, of course. Many of them produced by Jus-Ed himself, but the UQ family counts artists like DJ Qu, Jenifa Mayanja, Levon Vincent, Nina Kraviz, Aybee, Smallpeople, Steffi, Move D, Mr. G and many others. The journey from local DJ and party promoter to internationally renowned producer can be completed in just a few weeks at best. In the case of American Jus-Ed, it takes more than two decades. For Edward McKeithen, the impetus in all these years is the continuation of the musical family tradition. The grandparents play jazz, the junior already makes himself at the mixing desk and mixer at the age of ten and thus lays the foundation for his later success as a house disc jockey and producer. As Jus-Ed plays his first DJ gigs, Devo, A Flock Of Seagulls and A-ha are shaping the sound of the time. McKeithen's wavy influences merge with soul, R 'n' B and funk from Parliament, Maze, Cameo and T-Connection. Best conditions to get interested in the new music in the clubs at the end of the 80s. Soon Jus-Ed starts his own parties at home in Connecticut, far from the centers of electronic music. He himself is fully absorbed in the role of the doer: He organizes, makes flyers and promotions, stands at the mixing desk and does everything else to liven up the small local scene. (Magnet Booking) NAfter the initial hype and accompanying alcohol and drug problems, Jus-Ed, much like Detroit Hosue legend Delano Smith, retires from the scene for about 15 years. It wasn't until 2005 that he felt the time was right to return. As a producer, disc jockey and operator of his own label Underground Quality, the man from Connecticut, who is now married to producer Jenifa Mayanja, shows that he is serious about making a comeback. Jus-Ed always sees his label Underground Quality as an outlet for young producers who, despite their talent, don't get a chance at other record companies. One such talent is Russian producer Anton Zap, who released the maxi "Real House Music" on Underground Quality in 2008 alongside his mentor. Only a short time later he intensified his contacts to Russia and signed the until then completely unknown Moscow producer Nina Kraviz. Her "Voices" EP quickly lands in the record cases of Sebo K, Efdemin and Matt Edwards aka Radio Slave. .Jus-Ed himself is a major contributor to the renaissance of the deep house genre with his albums "Unity Kolabo" (2007), "Next Level" (2010) and "Vision Dance", released in 2011 on Japanese label Mule Electronic - along with brothers in spirit such as Omar-S, Delano Smith and Norm Talley. (laut.de) Dana Ruh Born and raised in Germany's small town Gera, Dana Ruh soon found her way to the capital city of Berlin and since then she has been on a constantly evolving musical journey. In the early years her sound was rooted in techno and landed most often on the label Brouqade Records, which she set together with her friend Ann in 2007 and joined by (Anthea also joined the imprint collective in 2012).

Producing a deeper, more smoky house and techno sound, Dana has released on Ostgut Ton alongside André Galuzzi and has become one of the family members at Jus Ed's lauded New Jersey label Underground Quality, where she released her stunning debut album 'Naturally'.

When she isn't busy in the studio crafting textured tracks, Dana is a fine DJ who holds down resident duties at top Berlin space club Der Visionare. It is there that she lays down seductive tracks from the worlds of house and techno as well as gems in between, but so she does when on tour round world, hitting up clubs and festivals everywhere from the UK to the USA, Romania to Russia.

As such, despite working in such an over saturated and competitive field, Dana Ruh manages to speak louder and more coherently that most, and for that reason she deserves all the love she gets. Text source and more information about this event: http://hafen2.net/
