"The Iranians in Mainz intend together with other nations and cultures under the motto, 'Norouz (New Day) in Mainz - Experience Cultural Diversity' every year on 22. March in the House of Cultures to organize a joint Norouz culture festival and thus the enrichment of cultural diversity, through culture of people with migration background to set a lasting sign".

"It is known that besides Iranians also Kurds, Afghans, Tajiks, Azerbaijanis, Turkmen, Uzbeks, Turks and many other peoples with similar but probably also different names, motives and interpretations know Norouz and celebrate it on 20 or 21 March with the beginning of spring. Depending on it is celebrated as a New Year festival, as a spring festival, as a festival of awakening and renewal of nature and as a festival of resistance against evil and for freedom.

As you can see, the Norouz - festival connects many peoples and countries with each other. With its cross-nationality and cross-border nature, Norouz festival seems to be created for bringing peace, friendship and international understanding. Norouz enjoys international recognition. In 2009, Norouz was inscribed by UNESCO on the representative list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity .

The Norouz Cultural Festival will be held as part of a cooperation between the Frankfurter Hof and Maltese Works. Among others, the Iranian music group Azad, the music group Delnawas from the project "Musik und Kunst auf der Flucht" (patronage Minister President Malu Dreyer) and the music group Les Etoiles de Boten and the Afghan group Raha and the dance group Sheida will perform."
