"I've always loved the theatre very much, and yet I almost never go anymore. [...] What happened? When did it happen? Have I changed? Or the theatre? Do I no longer love it, or do I love it too much?" - Roland Barthes
Feeling.
And then silence. Fade-in of a string replica. Then basic light. Theatrical fog rises. Then sensing, then silence, then base light. In our experimental set-up for the stage, we review gestures and elements of
classical theatre for performance art. Artificial blood, beautifully spoken text, dry ice and backlight as icons of
passion. We want to bring theatre to the performance stage and expose ourselves and the audience to great feelings with understanding! Failure is assumed as a basic condition.
We've patched the costumes, fixed the makeup, learned the lines. Put wings on words. Rehearsed gestures. Felt our way in. All that's missing now is you, my darling.
Concept & Performance: Antonia Alessia Virginia Beeskow & Calendal Klose
