ODDARRANG from Helsinki, the quintet around exceptional drummer Olavi Louhivuori, has been touring for ten years now with a wayward mix of jazz, world, film music elements and influences from progressive rock.
The video for "these words" went around the world and the album "umbilical" found its way into the collection of music lovers. Now mantocliff releases the second single "sea-son" and goes on tour. Complexity and subtlety are two buzzwords that come to mind when listening to the songs on "umbilical". If you try to write a more detailed description in a hurry, you will fail. Because as so often with experimental pop albums, you have to give yourself completely to the music of the debut of the six-piece formation from Basel. And it's worth it, "umbilical" captivates with gloomy in-between tones and delicate, expertly arranged songs.
