Influences from traditional Jewish music of the Occident and the Orient, the song art of Romanticism and rock music can be found in the music of contemporary Israeli jazz musician Omer Klein. Klein also explains the international success of the Israeli jazz trio with their ability to improvise. In his troubled, chaotic country, he says, they are constantly called upon to make decisions and find quick solutions. Omer Klein Trio present their latest CD Sleepwalkers (Warner Music). Der Spiegel recognizes Omer Klein as an "international star," while the New York Times calls his music "borderless." Omer Klein grew up in Netanya (Israel), studied at the Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts near Tel Aviv, moved to New York, and now lives in Cologne.
