The Landesmuseum is showing works by seven internationally active sketchers from the Urban Sketchers scene.
"We draw on site, indoors or outdoors, after direct observation." This first sentence from the Urban Sketchers' manifesto describes that the process of drawing is central: being on site and recording impressions seismographically. The drawing is understood as a "testimony" of what is seen and is shared on the internet. Individual prints from the holdings of the Landesmuseum between the sketches will establish a relationship with the tradition of sketching on journeys, but also on the paths of everyday life. Impressions of hearing, feeling and smelling will atmospherically enrich the sketches of the individual locations. Courses and sketching tours around the museum invite visitors to capture their own view of the world.
This exhibition is being created in close collaboration with Jenny Adam of the Urban Sketchers Rhein-Main. She establishes the contacts to the sketchers, curates the exhibition and organizes two workshop weekends at the beginning.
The presentation of the drawn settings for all senses and the mediation program with many impulses for own activity are aimed at visitors with all conceivable experiences, abilities and needs.
