The trio around vocalist Pramila Chenchanna has dedicated itself entirely to vocal jazz, not only swinging in the spirit with Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald, but also allowing themselves little elegant interpretations of their own. Thus they create their very own sound of classic swing and modern arrangements.
Vocals: Pramila Chenchanna: Born in Berlin, the singer moved to Rotterdam at the end of the nineties, three years later to Amsterdam to study jazz singing. All in all, she remained loyal to Holland for 10 years, eventually becoming a Frankfurt resident by choice. She belonged to the Jugendjazzorchester der Bundesrepublik Deutschland and the Bundesjazzorchster and played with many combos and big bands.She works as a visual artist and produces electropop under the stage name Projektionista.
Guitar: Martin Lejeune: Studied jazz guitar at the Amsterdam University of the Arts.He came to Frankfurt in 1994, where he works as a freelance guitarist, composer and arranger. He is also a lecturer in the jazz department at the Hochschule für Musik Mainz.
Bass: Thore Benz: electric and double bass player, composer. He studied jazz and popular music in Frankfurt and has been a professional musician since 1997. He developed his groove-oriented playing style in collaboration with many musicians from Africa and South America, and he owes it to his passion for African-American musical cultures, from which blues, jazz and funk were influenced. In recent years he has been exploring the classical double bass.
