Alice in Wonderland, this journey into the realm behind the mirrors, down the rabbit hole, is staged by us as "invisible theatre" in Frankfurt parks. The audience walks through the park and the play, discovering the uncanny in the midst of the familiar:
There are venues and little magic tricks hidden everywhere, the strange tea party suddenly appears from behind a bush, Goggelmoggel appears in the midst of ignorant passers-by, the living playing cards, knights and other dream figures swirl in the midst of apparent normality.
In fantastic costumes and with the absurd logic of the dream, this journey into the underworld of the human psyche becomes at the same time a voyage of discovery; what is believed to be familiar suddenly appears strange and mysterious, and the strange suddenly becomes wondrously familiar. At times, the audience is left alone with itself and the story and, mysteriously guided by clues from the white rabbit, must first figure out the path to the next stage by guesswork.
