It's finally summer - and after all the event cancellations of the last few months, there's good news: the independent ensemble of the Dramatische Bühne Frankfurt will be presenting the popular open-air festival again this year from 27 July to 30 August. Once again the green lung of Frankfurt, the Grüneburgpark, has been chosen as the venue. Named after the long gone "Grüneburg", the former country estate of the Rothschild family, the park was once a magnificent landscape garden owned by the family. Today, the approximately 29-hectare green space serves many Frankfurt citizens as an ideal place to relax, take a walk or go jogging. Whether parents with their children or dog owners, whether footballers or Frisbee players, whether sun worshippers or fitness enthusiasts, they all meet every day in the heart of Frankfurt, directly between the new university campus and the Palmengarten. With its large sunbathing lawns, winding and expansive walkways, Grüneburgpark virtually invites outdoor activities of all kinds.

This, of course, includes outdoor theater. A few years ago, after difficult negotiations with the authorities, the Dramatische Bühne fortunately succeeded in gaining part of this area as a backdrop for its open-air festival, which has attracted many thousands of visitors every summer ever since. Also this year, when everything is different than usual, the team of the Dramatische Bühne wants to create a little island of joy for their visitors. For this purpose a hygiene concept has been created, which you can find HERE. It is important: Since only a very limited contingent is available, you should quickly secure tickets.

Because whether Perfume, Faust, Cyrano de Bergerac or Was Ihr wollt - diversity is ensured with the program of the Dramatische Bühne also in 2020. The programme also includes Romeo & Juliet, Don Juan - The Man Women Resist, Macbeth, The Sorrows of Young Werther and The Picture of Dorian Gray. Almost fourteen different plays will be presented in the total of 45 performances. Performances start, at really fair prices, at 8.15pm each night, Fri and Sat as late as 8.45pm. For more detailed information on the individual plays, the exact schedule and directions, visit the official homepage of the Dramatische Bühne
