The audience itself determines the course of the drama, decides on death and life, on bliss and damnation. The public has the choice of fate, can decide by vote whether the lovers shall belong to each other forever or not, whether Mercutio or Tybald shall die, whether it shall be a comedy or a tragedy. Thus the drama takes a new, never the same course every night.
Romeo & Juliet depicts the story of two young lovers who belong to opposing families and come to their deaths - by suicide - under unfortunate circumstances.
