Over 40 years - and not a bit quiet! The OPEN OHR Festival has been transforming the Mainz Citadel into a large festival area every year at Whitsun since 1975 and becomes the meeting place for children, young people, adults and families. In short: for friends of non-commercial youth culture.
The Office for Youth and Family of the state capital Mainz and a voluntary independent project group organize the festival, which has a changing motto. And it goes down well. More than 10,000 visitors take the opportunity to deal intensively with current political topics during the days. The OPEN OHR Festival in Mainz has the reputation of being a unique example of successful youth cultural work in Germany. A variety of thematic events from the fields of cabaret, music, theater, film are joined by panels, workshops and actions.
A daily children's program allows parents to participate undisturbed in forums.
