Ring clear for the next round in the battle of the sexes. Who will be knocked out, who will win on points? No sooner is the lid opened on the relationship box than all hell breaks loose. There is raging and screaming, and everything is to despair and to drive out of the skin, if it were not so heartbreakingly funny.
The very everyday theater: the marriage of Antonia and her husband is getting on in years. He's bored and, without remorse, keeps cheating. She makes scenes at him and threatens suicide. When he tries to convince her of the positive aspects of the open relationship between the two of them, she turns the tables on him - after all, he wouldn't have it any other way. In the end, everything suddenly looks very different.
Nobel Prize-winning Italian writer Dario Fo co-wrote this enigmatic tragicomedy with his wife Franca Rame, full of wordplay that takes a satirical look at the subject of marriage. In "Open Two" it is demonstrated what a husband and wife can do when they have sworn fidelity to each other until death. A delightful grotesque that satirically brings the themes of tolerance and fidelity to the fore; a terrific stage highlight!
