Danny and Helen are expecting a child. Their idyll is abruptly interrupted when, at a romantic dinner, Helen's brother Liam bursts into the room covered in blood. Not his blood, he says. A boy was stabbed in the street and he was just helping him. Danny wants to call the police. Helen stops him. After all, Liam has a criminal record, so it's better not to draw attention to him. Danny allows himself to be persuaded to protect his brother-in-law and has no idea what a fatal web of half-truths, lies and love he is getting himself into. Dennis Kelly's improbably dense psychological thriller WAISEN is about the pervasive, multimedia-well-supported, and thus socially approved emotional, moral, and intellectual orphanhood of its protagonists, an exploration of the fears and loyalties that lead us to do what we shouldn't. After all, if it's not me for me, then who is for me? Text source and further information about this event: http://freiesschauspiel.de/programm/spielplan/waisen
