Osan Yaran is a true Berliner with Turkish roots. Growing up and socializing in a problem district of the capital, Osan's life has been at times exhausting and exciting at the same time.
Growing up in a clash of cultures broadens one's perspective, but also raises questions: Who or what am I? Where do I belong? Which part of my heart beats louder? Spreewald gherkin or baklava? Am I a "fully correct German" or rather a "shisha migrant"?
But if you think that Osan is drowning in consternation in his pointless search for answers, you are sorely mistaken.
With a giant pack of joie de vivre and overflowing energy, the father of a son tells stories from the middle of his everyday life - from the job, the in-laws, from his neighbourhood and also from the daily challenges of his marriage. There are enough problems - it's good when you can laugh about them together. And if it comes to an argument, e.g. whether Mohammed or Jesus is "the better one", then they just agree on Batman! So the Ossi-Turk, as Osan calls himself, simply combines the best of all worlds. And out comes an Ostmane!
