Humboldt once said: "At bottom, it is always the connections with people that give life its value". Sounds nice. But is simply wrong. Humboldt, the old hippie, seems to have lived in a strange time and, moreover, not in the Ruhr area. Otherwise he would have known: life itself is great, people, on the other hand, rather an unattractive concomitant.
But beauty is a matter of opinion and dignity a stretchable concept. And what is there to do about it? The only options are unquestioning conformity or an isolated life on one's own balcony. For outside they lurk - whether in museums, sidewalk cafes, or just outside one's own front door - the humane hustle and bustle is one marketplace of oddities.

In short stories and dialogue sequences, Patrick Salmen describes the absurdity of Jochen Schweizer experience vouchers and self-made photo collages. We meet sarcastic pensioners, quick-witted waiters, cynical postmen, the dishwashing monster and any number of bizarre characters. It's about the aesthetics of the colour beige, the future of the German egg cooker, little princes in the bodies of fat truckers, the agonies of nicotine withdrawal and the all-important question - where is the nose? And although the general doubt about humanity often prevails, a wonderful comedy often reveals itself between idiocy and madness. After all, humans are quite funny creatures. And basically just people. Source: https://diekaes.reservix.de/tickets-patrick-salmen-genauer-betrachtet-men-also-nur-leute-in-frankfurt-die-kaes-am-28-12-2017/e1087401
