Patrick is eleven and he knows exactly: when parents whisper in the kitchen at night, they want to keep something secret. He's going to have a brother! Great! But something's weird: "It was a stupid idea to take the test," his father whispers, and his mother cries. His brother may never learn to speak properly, Patrick hears at the kitchen door. Why is that? What could be so difficult about learning to speak? Patrick is somewhat perplexed, and of course he doesn't dare ask his parents about the secret. But what are friends for! And so he pesters everyone with his pressing questions: his friend Valentin, his teacher, the Croatian boxer, the vegetable woman, the "professor" and Danijel from the class above him (who has quite a bit of trouble with the language himself). And indeed, they all have something to contribute: useful, funny and crazy ideas, so that by the end Patrick is well prepared for his little brother. The story is told by Patrick himself and by his unborn brother. An unusual pair of entertainers playing all the parts and unleashing a firework of comedic ideas on the audience. Kristo Šagor has written a ravishingly funny play about dealing with disability: with pragmatic optimism and unpretentious affirmation of life, with original, whimsical fantasy and clever, beautiful language. He succeeds in humorously breaking taboos and honestly illuminating the pressing questions of children in their encounters with the adult world.
