How does peace actually work? Once again with doves, rainbows, and flower-bedecked guns? In a discursive group exhibition, the SCHIRN leaves the beaten track. The starting point is the thesis that peace is determined by the interaction and communication of all actors existing in the ecosystem. The focus is on aspects that have always made human life and coexistence possible, such as water, animals, plants, language, silence or the gift. International artists take a new, contemporary perspective on this theme with their works, including Jan de Cock, Minerva Cuevas, Ed Fornieles, Surasi Kusolwong, Isabel Lewis, Lee Mingwei, Katja Novitskova, Agnieszka Polska, Timur Si-Qin. The current transformation of the humanist worldview and its influences on the relationship between man and nature will also play an essential role. An integral part of the exhibition will be special live events, such as poetry performances, concerts, lectures or cooking sessions. The program will be developed together with the participating artists. Text source and further information on this event: http://www.schirn.de/ausstellungen/2017/peace/
