It was the time of new beginnings and unbridled joie de vivre - the 50s and 60s in post-war Germany. Rock'n' Roll as a new attitude towards life conquered Europe. Nobody embodied this attitude to life in Germany musically like Peter Kraus.
Reason enough for the "eternally young" artist to present the pearls of his musical œuvre and the time that shaped him in the Alte Oper as part of a major anniversary tour. He will perform not only his own hits, but above all his personal favourite songs by famous performers such as Fats Domino, Elvis Presley or Tom Jones, including timeless hits such as "Rock Around The Clock" or "Roll over Beethoven", but also his own new titles such as "Enjoy yourself" and "Wie schön wär diese Welt".
He will be accompanied on his 2019 anniversary tour by handpicked musicians and singers. They lead his music away from electronics and overblown, loud technology, towards soulful, natural tones. This is also reflected in the choice of instruments: There's Hammond organ and harmonica sounding, not a synthesizer or a crashing horn section. The sound is as you know it from the 60s.
Peter Kraus wants to get to the bottom of the great success of the music of the 50s and 60s with this project and take the audience back to that time. Indulging and enjoying, not only musically, but also in stories and anecdotes, memories and pictures, is explicitly desired.
