Phia (aka Sophia Exiner) grew up in Melbourne, South Australia and started her professional music career as a session pianist. In 2011 she spontaneously decided to buy a one-way ticket to Berlin. With her kalimba and a loop pedal in her luggage, she ventured into the unknown. This decision was the starting point of a musical world tour that continues to this day. Since then she has given hundreds of concerts and presented her songs, in which she reflects a patchwork of images, feelings, memories. Every concert is different, whether in the picturesque bars of southern Italy, a fisherman's pub in Iceland or on large international festival stages - Phia's music is at home everywhere. The audience thanks her, her fans are loyal and appreciate her talent and natural charm. She has now temporarily found a home in Europe, the homeland of her ancestors.
Phia studied at the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts, where she graduated with a degree in Improvisation. She developed a talent for telling stories off the cuff and began composing songs featuring warm harmonies and soulful vocals. She then gradually added guitar, drums and additional vocalists to her songs, giving her performances an orchestral feel. Cleverly arranged, yet never cerebral and always with a good dose of soul.
